Industrial Performance
Analyzing the various trends and offsets that happen in the Industrial sector and assessing its performance. I am interested in the impact of various public and private policies that might affect the working of the Industry. Specific policies such as Mergers and Acquisition, Disinvestment, etc.
Influence of AI
I am keen to identify the role of Artificial Intelligence in various fields, specifically academics and how its integration could build or break the foundations of academics. How often is AI used in Studies/Research and should it be completely eliminated?
Behavioural Economics
I am fascinated to look into why people behave in a certain way. My key interest is the involvement of the bandwagon effect in scenarios such as sudden trends which pop up. The role of the media in influencing the public.
I wanted to explore this topic because of certain real life events, some being trends similar to the Ghibli style AI art and some of the trends being political such as a fictional flag being hoisted as a symbol of protest.
Environment and Sustainability
There are few topics I am interested in from an environmental pov. I had some prior experience working with TERI which is focused on conserving the environment and sustainable development.
- Electric Vehicles and its impact - Without a dependable renewable source of energy does using an EV matter? I am interested in comparing the environmental cost of both EV and a Petrol Vehicle.
- Plastic pollution - I have interest in this topic because I had already worked with data related to the manufacturing of plastic commodities and the trends in import and export of plastic articles.
- Growing land occupancy & Ecological Imbalance - This topic came up during a classroom discussion with my professor. I was curious about how land occupancy is causing the wild animals to enter the residential areas. Is that the only reason or it is the reason which might have led to something even worse.
Taxation and Public Policy
How is the tax regime in India? Comparing it with other countries with very high rates of taxes and with the countries with very low rates of taxes. While working on my MA thesis I came across the concept of tax heavens and why more and more people are setting up their operations in these said countries. I wanted to identify what compels them to shift towards such heavens.
Population & Migration
Understanding if there is a need for migration and growing concern toward a larger migrant population. Emergence of protests all across the world regarding illegal immigration. In this I wanted to look how these arguments hold if hypothetically these migrants were to disappear. Would they thrive or have serious consequences and look at how it is affecting the geo political relationship between nations.
